Though a similar truck famously out-accelerated a Porsche 918 , that build was essentially a Patrol body on top of a much-modified R35 GT-R chassis–it was also making nearly 2000 HP. Even with just over half that figure this one should still be very, very fast, and build quality looks to be quite nice inside and out.
Nope, this one didn’t out-accelerate a 918

These things were hilarious fun in standard form let alone batshit crazy as it is.
You could probably build something like this in Oz for much less. Shipping a stock MQ or GQ to the States and dropping an LS into it would be cheap too.

I’m laughing; ‘similar’ is only skin deep on this occasion. I mean one is a modified GT-R wearing Patrol body on the top, and the other is a Patrol that’s been modifed.

Actually you do need to be a little careful as the wobbly coil suspension and the hefty motor meant these were quite adept at swapping ends on the fast dirt...if you weren’t in 4wd.
The other option is a cab chassis version with the rear overhang chopped off.

I would say this part is completely irrelevant in this ad.

No problem, I found that part to be pretty misleading, apples and oranges
